Search and Rescue Manisa
Citizens have experienced good and bad on this region. After every disaster, we have called “The God wanted” instead of to provide necessary articles and to build strong accommodations for peoples.
We have to prepare our selves before earthquake, floating, fires and any kind of transportation’ s accident. Good managers and directors establish organizations before disaster, not after! That’ s why we set up Manisa’ s Search and Rescue Organizations (MAK-DER Manisa Arama Kurtarma Derneği).
In 1998, Mr. Edip Yaşar, Mr. Bekir Kılıç, Mr. Haydar Aksakal and Mr. Önder Kabaş present a search and rescue project to City Minister of Manisa. Unfortunately, they had no answer from Minister.
Morning of 17 August 1999, North of Turkey (Marmara) shake with powerful earthquake. Thousands people died, many buildings collapsed and many, many peoples had been injured. Many search and rescue teams came from all over the world to help local teams. Thanks to them! With their help hundreds soul are rescued. Manisa’ s alpinist went to disaster area to join them. After this experience, we take a decision to set up Search and Rescue Manisa.
Mak-der is just established by 6 alpinists but we believe it will be good organized association with our souls. Our strategy is design by: Mr. Edip Yaşar, Mr. Bekir Kılıç, Mr. Yavuz Elbirler, Mr. Cevat Sayın, Mr. Haydar Aksakal, Mr. Seyfettin Ayakyay and Mr. Vedat Ece.
4th December of 1999, 45 voluntary started first aid course at University of Celal Bayar. 38 voluntary were suggested to exam and 32 voluntary took their certificate at the end of course.
North of Turkey is shaked again on 26th February1999. 22 voluntary went to disaster area at the same day. They spend two days to help peoples.
